Brazilian motorsport is set for another international highlight this weekend as Celso Neto competes in the third round of the 2025 Michelin Pilot Challenge season. Representing AMED / Dipromed / LS Interbank / SODI USA by Velocity Racing / Team: Precision Racing LA, Celso will be behind the wheel of the #7 Audi RS3 LMS TCR at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California — a circuit known worldwide for its iconic “Corkscrew” turn.
Neto will once again team up with American driver Ryan Eversley, both driving under the banner of Precision Racing LA.
With the TCR field becoming increasingly competitive, Celso has shown strong pace and consistency since the season opener. The duo already secured a podium finish in Daytona and continue to demonstrate the potential to contend for victories.
"This is my first time at Laguna Seca — a legendary track. I'm super excited to drive here, and it’ll be a bit different for most of the grid because the track was resurfaced last year. So, only those who drove here in 2024 with the new asphalt will have an edge, since lap times are 3 to 4 seconds quicker now," said Celso Neto.
The Michelin Pilot Challenge is part of the IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) calendar — one of the world’s most respected motorsport organizations. The 2025 season started on a high note for Neto and Eversley, who secured a third-place finish in the season opener at Daytona, signaling strong synergy between the drivers and their ability to fight at the front.
In round two at Sebring, Celso led the TCR field for over half the race, showing total command of the car. However, a fueling issue during a pit stop dashed their hopes of victory, costing the duo a potentially historic result.
Despite the setback, Celso remains undeterred. “After Sebring, the team returned to the shop in Los Angeles to fine-tune the car for this round. That’s really important for us, because at Daytona the car arrived just in time and the team had to hustle through the first two rounds. Our car is really strong in high-speed corners, which dominate this track at Laguna Seca, so I’m feeling confident — I think we’re in for a great race. Let’s go for it!” said the Brazilian driver.
The Laguna Seca weekend kicks off on Friday (May 9) with two one-hour free practice sessions, scheduled for 9:10 AM and 1:00 PM local time. Qualifying is set for 5:40 PM and will determine the starting grid for Saturday’s main event.
The race goes green on Saturday (May 10) at 12:45 PM local time. Brazilian fans can follow Celso Neto’s performance live on the official IMSA YouTube channel, rooting for the young talent from Brazil flag to the top step of the podium at one of motorsport’s most demanding circuits.
