Excitement and speed marked Kiko Porto's (Toyota Gazoo Racing / Banco Daycoval / MC Games / Team: Rafa Racing) return to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America. The race, held at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida, was part of the IMSA (International Motor Sport Association) schedule and proved to be a test of skill and determination for the Brazilian driver.

Called up at the last minute by the Rafa Racing Team to return to the series, Kiko Porto didn't hesitate to accept the challenge. The Pernambuco native, who finished third overall in the Super Trofeo in 2024, is currently leading the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge after two rounds, another IMSA competition. But the opportunity to drive a Lamborghini again was irresistible.

At Sebring, Kiko shared the #81 PRO-AM car with fellow Brazilian Nick Monteiro. The duo showed great synergy from the start, with Monteiro securing ninth on the grid for Race 1 and Porto clinching pole position for Race 2.

In the first race, Monteiro was the first to hit the track but faced challenges in his debut with the car. He handed the wheel to Kiko at the end of the race's first half, who began an impressive comeback. Starting from the back of the grid, the Pernambuco driver climbed through the field and finished fourth in PRO-AM, just one step away from the podium.

"With one more lap, maybe we could have reached third place. We lost some time overtaking cars from other classes, but it was a very positive race," commented Kiko, pleased with his performance.

On Friday (14th), the duo returned to the track for Race 2, with Kiko starting from pole position in PRO-AM and fourth overall. The Pernambuco driver delivered a flawless stint, maintaining the lead until handing the car over to Monteiro. Nick held the lead until the end, but a 10-second penalty for a "jump start" dropped the duo to fifth in the final results.

"I don't think I jumped the start. I took pole in my class and was fourth overall at the green flag. Still, it was a very fun week, and it felt great to be back behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Super Trofeo," emphasized Kiko, optimistic about the team's performance.

The next round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America will occur from May 9 to 11 at Laguna Seca Raceway in California. Meanwhile, Kiko Porto remains focused on the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, where his third round is scheduled for June at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Ohio.
