Kiko Porto Delivers a Spectacular Comeback Drive in Lamborghini Super Trofeo

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo season started with intense battles and thrilling performances at Sebring International Raceway in Florida. The championship saw fierce competition and remarkable on-track displays during the IMSA (International Motor Sport Association) race weekend.

Representing Brazil, Kiko Porto (Toyota Gazoo Racing / Banco Daycoval / MC Games / Team: Rafa Racing) made his return to Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America with the Rafa Racing Team. The Pernambuco native, who currently leads the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge—another IMSA-sanctioned series—shared driving duties in the No. 81 Lamborghini with fellow Brazilian Nick Monteiro.

Monteiro took the wheel for the opening stint of Race 1, starting from ninth place on the PRO AM grid. He maintained a strong pace in the race's first half until the mandatory pit stop window, where he handed the car over to Kiko Porto.

From that moment, the Brazilian put on a brilliant recovery drive. Starting from the back of the pack, Kiko set an impressive pace, executed crucial overtakes, and climbed through the field to finish fourth in class, shy of a podium finish.

"If we had one more lap, we could have fought for third place, but it was a really exciting race that required much work. I had to overtake many cars, including some from other classes, so it was a big challenge. Now, we focus on Race 2," said Kiko Porto.

This Friday (March 14), the Brazilian will have an even better opportunity in the weekend's second race. During the qualifying session, Kiko secured pole position in PRO AM, earning the top spot on the grid.

This time, he will take the start in the No. 81 Lamborghini, aiming to convert his pole position into a strong result. Expectations are high for another outstanding performance from the Brazilian driver.
