The VP Racing Sportscar Challenge cars are back on track for the second round of the 2025 season. This weekend, the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas, will host the competition, which will bring together top international motorsport talents.

Leading the GSX category with 700 points, Brazilian driver Kiko Porto (Toyota Gazoo Racing / Banco Daycoval / MC Games / Team: Rafa Racing) returns to action after a stellar debut in the VP Racing Sportscar Challenge. The young talent clinched victory in both season opener races in Daytona and now looks to continue his winning streak on the demanding Texas circuit.

"It was an excellent start in Daytona, with two important wins, but the season is just beginning. We need to maintain this level of performance to stay ahead," analyzed Kiko Porto.

The Circuit of the Americas is familiar territory for the driver. In 2023, he claimed victory on the Austin track while competing in the USF Pro 2000. Last year, he also raced at COTA in a Lamborghini Super Trofeo event. Now, he faces a new challenge behind the wheel of the No. 8 Toyota GR Supra, proudly representing the Rafa Racing Team.

"These are different categories, but knowing the track is always an advantage. COTA is a technical circuit, featuring high-speed sections mixed with medium- and low-speed corners, which puts both the car and the driver to the test," Kiko highlighted.

Recently, Kiko Porto was announced as the newest member of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s driver development program. The Japanese manufacturer chose him from a select group of promising talents. This opportunity further solidifies his growing presence on the international motorsport scene.

The VP Racing Sportscar Challenge schedule kicks off this Friday (28), with a free practice session at 4:00 PM* followed by a second adjustment session at 6:00 PM*. Qualifying, which will set the starting grid, is scheduled for 8:30 PM* (Brasilia time).

The weekend’s races will occur on Saturday (29), with the first race set for 11:40 AM* and the second race at 9:00 PM* (Brasilia time). Brazilian fans, especially those from Kiko Porto’s home state of Pernambuco, can catch all the action live on IMSA’s official YouTube channel.
