Brazilian driver Kiko Porto (Toyota Gazoo Racing / Banco Daycoval / MC Games / Team: Rafa Racing) has started 2025 in style. In the first round of the VP Racing Sportscar Challenge in January at the Daytona circuit in Florida, Kiko delivered a flawless performance. Driving the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2, the Brazilian topped the practice sessions, secured pole position, and won both event races, establishing himself as one of the standout drivers in the IMSA-affiliated series.
But the good news didn’t stop there. This week, Kiko Porto was announced as the newest Toyota Gazoo Racing Driver Development Program member, an elite group of talents selected by the Japanese automaker. This is a significant milestone in the Brazilian’s career, as he now represents one of the most successful brands in global motorsport.
“I’m thrilled to be part of such a prestigious program. It’s a dream to represent a team with such a rich history and so many victories in motorsport. This recognition motivates me even more to keep improving on the track,” said the driver from Pernambuco.
With a solid background in single-seaters and recent success in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, Kiko Porto continues to expand his international career. Toyota, known for its triumphs in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), multiple victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and strong presence in Formula 1 and the Dakar Rally, now trusts the young talent from Recife.
“Toyota Gazoo Racing stands for excellence and performance. Being part of this team is realizing a major career goal,” Kiko emphasized.
In the United States, Toyota’s strength is reflected in NASCAR and its commitment to developing young talents in series like the USF Pro Championships. With Kiko Porto joining the program, the bond between Brazil and Toyota grows even more substantial, opening more doors for the driver in the international racing scene.
“My focus now is to maintain high performance and prove that I can continue to represent both Toyota and Brazil well. Competing with Rafa Racing this season is a great responsibility, and I’m ready for the challenge,” said the driver, who remains focused on the VP Racing Sportscar Challenge.
The 2025 season promises to be a defining year for Kiko Porto, who already stands out as a strong contender for the VP Racing Sportscar Challenge title. The next round is scheduled for February 28 to March 1 at the Circuit of The Americas in Texas. Expectations are high, and Kiko is determined to deliver results that reinforce his position among the top talents in international motorsport.
