Daytona (FL), January 23, 2025
Speed is already taking over the legendary Daytona International Speedway in Florida, home to the thrilling 24 Hours of Daytona and other IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) competitions, including the Michelin Pilot Challenge. Representing Brazil, 20-year-old Celso Neto (AMED / Dipromed / LS Interbank / SODI USA by Velocity Racing / Team: Precision Racing LA) is driving the No. 7 Audi RS3 in the TCR class, sharing the cockpit with American driver Ryan Eversley for Precision Racing LA.
The pair displayed consistency and competitive potential during the first two practice sessions on Wednesday (22nd) and Thursday (23rd). In the first session, Celso Neto clocked a 1:58.199 lap time, securing the second-fastest time in the TCR category and emerging as the quicker driver of the duo. In the second session, under different track conditions, Eversley set a time of 1:58.372, placing the car fifth in the TCR session standings.
"It was an encouraging start, but we still have room to improve before qualifying," Neto emphasized.
The event schedule remains intense, with the qualifying session set for Thursday at 1:15 PM (local time) to determine the starting grid. On Friday (24th), the day kicks off with a final practice session at 9:25 AM (local time), followed by the start of the first round of the Michelin Pilot Challenge at 1:45 PM (Eastern Standard Time).
Brazilian fans can watch the live broadcast on the IMSA YouTube channel at 3:45 PM Brasília time.
