Daytona Beach, FL – January 21, 2025

The iconic Daytona International Speedway in Florida is set to host another thrilling week of motorsport action. Among the highlights is Brazilian driver Celso Neto (AMED / Dipromed / LS Interbank / SODI USA by Velocity Racing / Team: Precision Racing LA), just 20 years old, who will compete in the Michelin Pilot Challenge. This series is one of the premier support categories under the IMSA (International Motor Sport Association) umbrella, preceding the legendary Rolex 24 at Daytona.

Celso is preparing for his official debut in the 2025 season. A native of Salvador, Brazil, he will be behind the No. 7 Audi RS3 wheel, representing Precision Racing LA. Neto will share driving duties with 41-year-old American veteran Ryan Eversley from Lithonia, Georgia.
“This partnership with Ryan has been amazing. I’ve learned so much from him during the testing sessions, and our chemistry in the car is a key factor in striving for strong results,” Celso highlighted.

The lead-up to the season opener was intense, with drivers and teams participating in five pre-season testing sessions last week. During the third session, Celso and Ryan shone with a lap time of 1:58.246, the fastest in the entire TCR class.

“Being the quickest on a demanding track like Daytona was very special. This result boosts our confidence, but we’re aware the real challenge is maintaining this pace and converting it into championship points,” said the Brazilian driver.

The Michelin Pilot Challenge schedule kicks off this Wednesday (22nd) with the first practice session at 3:00 PM local time (5:00 PM in Brazil). On Thursday (23rd), Celso will tackle another practice session at 8:45 AM (10:45 AM in Brazil), followed by qualifying at 1:15 PM (3:15 PM in Brazil), which will determine the starting grid. On Friday (24th), the agenda includes a final practice at 9:25 AM (11:25 AM in Brazil), leading up to the much-anticipated race, which will go green at 1:45 PM (3:45 PM in Brazil).

With optimism and determination, Celso Neto is ready to embark on a promising season. “Our team is well-prepared, and the tests have shown the car’s potential. We’re working hard to achieve a strong result right from the start and carry the Brazilian flag to the podium at Daytona,” added the driver.

Fans can follow the talented young Brazilian’s performance live on IMSA’s YouTube channel. Celso and Ryan are set to deliver excitement on the track as they push for victory in this opening round of the Michelin Pilot Challenge.
