Austin, TX – August 28, 2024

It has been sixty-eight days since the last round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America at Watkins Glen, New York. Now, the series returns for the fourth round of the 2024 season, taking place at the Circuit of the Americas, or COTA, within the schedule of the IMSA - International Motor Sports Association. After three wins in the first four races of the year, Brazilian driver Kiko Porto (Banco Daycoval / Team: Ansa Motorsports) and his teammate, French driver Nico Jamin, have maintained their lead in the driver standings, despite retiring from the first race at Watkins Glen and finishing third in the second race in New York.

Kiko and Nico currently hold 72 points, sitting at the top of the PRO category with a 2-point lead over the second-place duo. In Austin, the expectation is that the Ansa Motorsports drivers will once again be in a strong position to extend their advantage in the championship battle.

The Brazilian driver is very familiar with the COTA track, having secured the runner-up position in the F4 U.S. Championship at this venue in 2019. In the 2023 season, Kiko Porto won the race in Texas while competing in the USF PRO 2000 series. Now, behind the wheel of his Lamborghini number 4, he hopes to replicate that strong performance, despite the differences between formula and touring car racing.

“These are completely different driving styles, but having some experience on the track is crucial. We have a lot of work ahead, and we hope to return to victory here at COTA, which will be very important for me, Nico, and our team,” said Kiko Porto.

Recently, Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the racing division of Automobili Lamborghini, announced the new class for the Junior Super Trofeo and GT3 Program. Kiko is on the list, representing Brazil. Now, he has the chance to participate in the brand's annual evaluation and the final competition in November at Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo, a series contested worldwide with rounds in Europe, Asia, and the United States, is part of the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), the leading sports car racing championship in the U.S.

The schedule for this round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo at COTA includes two practice sessions on Friday (30th) at 10:20 AM and 3:25 PM. On Saturday (31st), two qualifying sessions will be followed by the weekend's first race at 6:10 PM. The second race is on Sunday (1st) at 9:50 AM. The races will be streamed live on IMSA-TV’s YouTube channel.
