A new car, a new competition, a new category, but the talent of Brazilian driver Kiko Porto remains the same as we have seen throughout his career in motorsport. The debut of the Pernambuco native, from Recife, could not have been better, at the opening round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America. On Thursday (14), he secured victory in the race that opened the event's schedule at the Sebring Circuit in Florida. On the same day, in the qualifying sessions, Kiko managed to secure pole position for the start of race two of the round, which was held on Friday (15).

Kiko Porto raced alongside his teammate, Frenchman Nico Jamin, who was the first to take to the track in race one on Thursday. Starting third in the first part of the race, with the #4 Lamborghini from Ansa Motorsports, Jamin maintained his position until the pit stop for the driver change.

Upon returning to the track, now with Kiko Porto behind the wheel, the duo secured the lead thanks to the team's magnificent work in the pits. With safe and consistent driving in the final stretch of the approximately 30-minute race, Porto crossed the finish line in first place, securing the victory.

"I am very happy! We had a very bold strategy, stopping much earlier than the other drivers in the pits, as soon as the pit window opened. We took the lead with that phenomenal pit stop. After that, it was very tough because the tires were wearing out very quickly. But I tried to minimize mistakes, focused on coming out strong in the corners, and with that, we managed to finish first and take the first-place trophy home," commented Kiko Porto, holding the first-place trophy.

In the second race, held on Friday (15), Kiko Porto started from pole position and maintained the lead into the first corner. Putting on a spectacular performance, Porto began to build a gap in the lead and remained in first place when he entered the pits, as soon as the window for the mandatory stop opened, repeating the strategy from the first race.

Lamborghini #4 returned to the track still in the lead, but now under Nico Jamin's command. Due to an unexpected problem a few minutes before the end of the race, the car lost performance due to a fuel pump issue. Nico then reset the car, which returned to normal performance, but it was enough for the Frenchman to drop to third place, unable to regain the lead, crossing the finish line in third.

"I am very happy for the team, who gave me this opportunity to be here. My teammate, Nico Jamin, who in less than seven days taught me everything he knew about the car, and I tried to absorb it in the best way. The result was this: a victory and a third-place podium. On to the next one," concluded Kiko, after receiving another trophy, in Sebring.

Kiko Porto and Nico Jamin will return to the track between May 10 and 12 for the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America. This time, at the Laguna Seca Circuit in the American state of California.
